So, what are the new team building trends ? What in-house event can you organize this year to meet employees ' expectations? We take a look at the latest innovations in the sector.

New formats: more frequent short-team departures

Working people used to hold annual company seminars to celebrate anniversaries or mark the end of the year. These large-scale conventions, attended by the entire workforce, were the occasion for pompous festivities that boosted the company's image.

Today, we're going back to basics to create links between employees. Impromptu discussions around the coffee machine are less frequent because of telecommuting, even though they are the very essence of working life. That's why it's so important to create convivial moments that ensure good team cohesion, so as not to risk damaging the company's results.

As a result, business trips are organized more often and in smaller teams. They are often planned to meet a specific objective. For example, some companies who have opted for full remote working choose to get together a few days a month to cowork in pleasant surroundings.

"We have conducted over 200 interviews with companies to understand their needs, its co-founders. Their main aim is to create a social bond, help people understand the company's values and enable employees to identify the added value of their colleagues, so as to capitalize on these strengths and skills," Camille Personnat and Guillaume Prigent, co-founders of The Oasis House, tell Challenges magazine.

Going away more often also means going away less, to make life easier for employees. The Perche region and the Loing valley in Seine-et-Marne are among the most popular destinations for working Parisians.

Outdoor activities are among the latest trends in team building

Prevented during the health crisis from being in contact with nature, the French have in recent years shown a genuine revival of interest in outdoor activities. Hiking, climbing, trail running... sales of products dedicated to these leisure activities continue to grow. Nights spent in a van or in a yurt are fuelling a new imagination of vacations and freedom.

Naturally, this desire to explore and unwind is also found at corporate events. Its benefits have been widely proven.

More environmentally-friendly seminars

In the face of climate change, it would seem out of touch to design a corporate event without considering its impact on the environment. You might even disappoint your most committed colleagues.

Indeed, 91% of employees think that the ecological transition should be a priority or important concern for companies, and 68% of employees would like to receive training on the subject, according to a Linkedin-Ademe study conducted by CSA.

In terms of best practice, if you're using service providers, you'll need to discuss with them how they integrate environmental considerations into their activities. Also, during the preparatory phase, don't forget to consider the waste generated by the seminar and the pollution caused by the events.

Team stays can also be part of an organization's CSR policy. This can take the form of social events such as solidarity hackathons, where participants offer their skills to an association. You can also prepare fun information workshops such as the Fresque du Climat and rent an eco-responsible seminar venue.

Wellness-oriented events to support the QHCT policy

QWL (Quality of Life and Working Conditions) is one of the top priorities for HR teams as resignations continue to rise since 2015 and retaining talent proves increasingly difficult.

Numerous seminars now offer sequences to help employees live their daily professional lives better, while escaping the urban rhythm: stress management, non-violent communication, yoga, meditation, sophrology... Simple exercises are carried out so that employees can reproduce them at home or in the office.

Beyond team building trends, what interests us at The Oasis House is discussing with you the issues you may be facing: talent retention, team cohesion, employee motivation, creating a strong corporate culture. Contact us to discuss and create your customized seminar.
